Berry Fudge Popsicles, Real Food Ingredients and Ephesians 3:20

Fudge pops can be hard to resist but not all fudge pops are created equal. Many store-bought fudge pops are laden with refined sugars and artificial flavors, often containing highly acidic ingredients such as pasteurized milk proteins. In contrast, a homemade vegan version of fudge pops can be made with plant based milks that don't cause inflammation or lead to modern diseases. Making your own popsicles for you and your family gives you a creative edge to add in high quality ingredients such as berries. By making your own, you exchange the wrong ingredients for the right ones and create a far healthier and delicious version.
Store‑bought fudge pops contain a long list of processed ingredients designed for sweetness, creaminess, and shelf stability. Below is a list of reasons to make your own popsicles:
Nonfat milk & whey — the main dairy base for creaminess. Dairy contains casein, a known carcinogen, inflammation and mucus producer. Dairy is associated with higher IGF‑1 levels, proven to promote tumor growth.
Sugar, corn syrup, high‑fructose corn syrup — the primary sweeteners that spike sugar levels rapidly, increase insulin resistance and promote fatty liver disease. HFCS is especially concerning because it bypasses normal metabolic pathways and stresses the liver.
Sugar alcohols (sorbitol, polydextrose) — used in “no sugar added” versions but can cause digestive imbalance, gas, and bloating.
Cocoa processed with alkali — gives the chocolate flavor and a darker color but has less antioxidants than raw cocoa or carob powder.
Palm oil & stabilizers: include guar gum, carrageenan, cellulose gum, locust bean gum. Used to prevent ice crystals and maintain smoothness and texture. Palm oils are high in saturated fat, which raises LDL cholesterol and contributes to systemic inflammation. Stabilizers can cause gut inflammation and IBS like symptoms.
Emulsifiers: mono & diglycerides, polysorbate 80, polysorbate 65, etc. Help fats and water blend smoothly. Emulsifiers can contribute to microbiome disruption and leaky gut syndrome.
Bulking agents: maltodextrin, polydextrose. Add body without adding much fat but can spike sugar levels and offer zero nutritional value.
Most people recall and understand basic nutrient components from certain types of foods even when they are not listed on any package. Most of the above ingredients are unrecognizable, yet we ignore them week after week after buying them. It's as if we think since their listed, they must be safe. The truth is, we're conditioned to believe they are harmless. Now compare those unfamiliar ingredients with the ones in a real food homemade recipe..👇
Ingredients:
3 medium very ripe bananas
1 large pitted, soaked Medjool date, chopped well
2/3 cup frozen mixed berries
1/2 cup Embe Coconut Milk, organic
2 tablespoons raw cocoa powder or carob
1/2 tablespoon maple syrup
1/8 cup filtered water
1/2 teaspoon Mexican vanilla extract
pinch of salt to bring out the flavors
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients into a high powered blender until very smooth
Makes about 3 1/4 cups of nice cream mixture.
Carefully pour the nice cream batter into your silicone containers.
Each of my 10 containers holds 1/3 cup so I was able to use all of the mixture.
Freeze a minimum of 8 hours or overnight.
🍦For extra creaminess, double the coconut milk to 1 cup and reduce bananas to 2.
🫐 For texture, add chopped pieces of fruit or nuts into your molds. I added a few sliced bananas at the bottom of a few, but I recommend smashing the banana first to match the texture of the popsicle.
To remove, run the bottom part of the container under hot water for 30 seconds, but make sure not to let the water run over the top since they aren't completely sealed.
Enjoy!
Eating real, whole food instead of store‑bought ice creams gives your body nourishment instead of chemicals. Real food—like blended bananas, dates, coconut milk, or raw cacao—contains fiber, antioxidants, minerals, and natural sugars your body knows how to process. Store‑bought ice cream, especially fudge pops, are filled with dairy proteins, refined sugars, emulsifiers, stabilizers, gums, and oils that strain digestion, spike blood sugar, and inflame the gut. Real food on the other hand, supports steady energy, healthy digestion, and long‑term wellness. Ultra‑processed frozen desserts are engineered for shelf life. When you make nice cream at home, you control the ingredients, avoid additives, and give your body nutrition instead of ingredients that overwhelm.
Scripture ties food and abundance directly to God. He feeds, He provides, He multiplies, and He satisfies. Eat His food both physically, and most importantly, spiritually.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. ~Ephesians 3:20
