Ginger Grape Wheatgrass Shots

Should we be juicing wheatgrass?

Short answer:   Wheatgrass can be a healthy addition for many people, but it’s not a miracle cure in and of itself. And it’s not for everyone. At best, it can be a nutrient‑dense booster, not a replacement for fruits, vegetables, or a prescription for medical care. If you're like most people, myself included, you'll never get used to drinking any amount of pure wheatgrass!

The good news is you don't have to drink it alone to reap its benefits. I've experimented with different combinations to try and "mask" that extreme bitterness wheatgrass is known for. This blend was worth sharing because not only was I able to subdue that strong and powerful flavor, I ended up with a nicely spiced, sweet, and tangy blend. So if you're willing to give this a try, "bottoms up!"

Make sure to use black or purple grapes for this recipe since they're sweeter than the reds and greens. I suppose the red ones will work just as well, but the black grapes have a distinct flavor that offsets the strength of wheatgrass. The lemon here does an excellent job of tricking our taste buds from the chlorophyll overload. The ginger adds a nice warming and spicy kick and works along with wheatgrass in providing great healing and anti-cancer benefits.

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”  ~Isaiah 40:8

This verse reminds us that although we can use what's on the earth to heal us, we too can fade away just like the flowers if we don't nourish and heal our souls. The only way to do that is through God's word and allowing it to transform our lives!

Instructions:

🍋I always leave some of the lemon skin on because it helps to reduce the bitterness of the wheatgrass. I do this too when I juice beetroot. Start with juicing the wheatgrass so you know how much you're going to drink. Juice up to 1/2 an ounce and then build up to a full ounce. Feel free to use up to 2 cups of grapes to customize the strength and flavor to your preference.

To get an idea of what wheatgrass juice can do for your health, here's a lengthy list provided by Hippocrates Health Institute:

  • One of the richest sources of Vitamins A and C

  • Contains a full spectrum of readily assimilated B vitamins, including B17, which has been credited with healing cancer

  • Contains high-quality calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, and potassium (alkaline minerals)

  • Rich source of organic iron

  • Rich source of trace minerals bioavailable from plants (92 of the 102)

  • Treats high blood pressure

  • Has a similar chemical molecular structure to human red blood cells. Proof that we are made from the dust!

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.”  ~Genesis 2:7

  • Eliminates drug deposits from the body, indicating that wheatgrass is an excellent detoxifier.

  • Detoxes the liver

  • Helps wounds heal faster!

  • Combats blood sugar issues

  • Has been seen to stop both hair loss and graying

  • Improves regularity and elimination

  • Increases resistance to radiation and alleviates symptoms of radiation poisoning

  • Acts as a disinfectant by killing bacteria in the blood, lymph, and tissues, which can be helpful after surgical procedures

  • Wheatgrass is considered a complete food with all of the necessary amino acids

What Wheatgrass Can't Do:

  • It does not cure cancer. It can assist in healing cancer, but only our God-designed bodies can heal themselves. We have to set up the right conditions both internally and externally.

  • It does not detox heavy metals all on its own. Again, detoxifying our body is a multifaceted process and something only our body can do if we assist it.

  • It does not replace fruits and vegetables!

  • It cannot provide complete nutrition. We need a variety of elements and nutrients from a wide range of foods.
