Tropical Green Juice and Green Juice Benefits

Wouldn't it be nice if all work offices had a raw juice vendor and got rid of all the soda machines? Many offices today offer their employees health perks such as a gym, why not a fresh juice bar? Corporate leaders should be well aware of the benefits of getting more greens and drinking green juices, especially for energy levels.

Some of the "side effects" of drinking them at work include increased energy, productivity, better focus, mental clarity, and being more positive! Now what office couldn't use that?!

Ingredients

  • 12 kale leaves (Lacinato kale)

  • 7 celery stalks

  • 1 large cucumber

  • 1/3 pineapple, peeled and cored

  • 1 inch ginger root

  • 1 inch turmeric root

Juice all the ingredients, then strain for a smoother drink. Enjoy.

Benefits of Green Juices and Smoothies

  • Mineral-Rich: Green juices work like supplements, except they are derived straight from nature and not a lab.

  • Hydration: They contribute to daily fluid intake, helping to keep the body hydrated.

  • Weight Management: Low in calories but high in nutrients, they can help in weight loss and management.

  • Boosted Energy Levels: The natural sugars from fruits and vegetables provide a quick energy boost.

  • Detoxification: Green juices can help detoxify the body by supporting liver function and promoting the elimination of toxins.

  • Enhanced Immune Function: Vitamins and antioxidants can strengthen the immune system.

  • Improved Skin Health: Nutrients from green juices can promote clearer skin and a healthy complexion.

  • Convenience: Green juices are a quick and easy way to consume multiple servings of fruits and vegetables.

  • Heart Health: Ingredients like leafy greens can help lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.

  • Alkalizing Effect: Green juices can help maintain the body’s pH balance by promoting alkalinity, which can reduce inflammation and pain in the body.

  • Variety of Flavors: They can be customized with different ingredients to suit personal taste preferences.

When juicing, it's best to yield more green juice than fruit juice to avoid a glycemic overload. Since we are stripping out the fiber, all the sugars from the juice will quickly go into the bloodstream within 15 minutes. For that reason, juicing the fruits first to no more than 8 ounces is a sound. Either way, it's best to yield more green juice than fruit juice to avoid a glycemic overload.

Sipping on your juice over a few hours rather than a few minutes can also help.

After I make green juice, I like to place it in the freezer for about an hour before working. By the time I start, I have an icy-cold green drink to enjoy and to get me through the rest of the day.
